Monthly Favourites!: March Faves ♡

Can we just talk about how hectic March was? For me personally, its the month when my friends and I finally spent the day together ever since prom, the month when my best guy friend returned from his lengthy vacation in Europe, the month I had my last physiotherapy session... For us who took SPM last year (2014), this was the month that we had been waiting for since forever; it was finally time for us to get our results, which also means that we've spent the whole month going to education fairs, applying for scholarship, attending interviews and what not. I also attended 2 major interviews this month and that's a new post altogether. Anyway, lets not dwell on any longer and start on my March favourites!

Beauty favourites:

On the 16th I bought my second ever MAC product which is the lip pencil in the colour 1. Nightmoth. Its one of the darkest lip liners that they have here in Malaysia and I absolutely love it. I have yet to wear it out since I've decided to start wearing dark lipstick on my 18th birthday which is in April but I have been trying it on a lot and everytime that I do, I dread the moment when I have to take it off. I've also been loving the 2. Bad to the Bronze Colour Tattoo by Maybelline. I've been using this as the base colour for my brown eyeshadows when I want a little sparkle on my eyelids.

Skincare favourites:

3. Simple's Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser has been a lifesaver for me this month. As you know Malaysia is currently being hit with hot weather and my skin pretty much dried up. This moisturiser does exactly what it says and my skin has not been peeling ever since. My next favourite is Skinlite's 4. Brightening Face Mask. I've been using Skinlite's masks every Sunday since 2015 started, and I don't think they have any significant effect on my skin, but the Brightening one smells really good and it also leaves my skin feeling fresh and moisturised. I don't think it brightened up my skin either, but maybe with more constant use I will see some difference.

Fashion favourites:

I've been loving this pair of heels from Vincci so much that I wore it to almost everywhere I go. I'm not sure whats the name for it, but I am head over heels for the gold buckles and the black straps that aren't too thick nor too thin. Since the heel is quite chunky, these are really comfortable to wear for a long day out.

Music favourites:

I have a few tracks that I've been listening nonstop throughout the whole month, and the tracks are Bills by Lunchmoney Lewis, Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding and Psycho by Muse. Can we talk about Psycho for a moment? My friend Niv from Singapore tweeted me the music video around 3am in the morning while I was sleeping and I freaked out completely. The first time I listened to the track I wasn't wearing any earphones so I had to listen to it at a low volume, hence I couldn't really hear the details in the song. I wasn't satisfied so I put on my earphones, listened to it again and I basically just replayed the song until I fell asleep and listened to it again and again for the entire week. All this while Muse had barely sworn in any of their songs and suddenly all the curses are in this song. Not too sure what I feel about that, but I am obsessed with the song anyway.

March has been a busy month, but I definitely enjoyed most parts of it! Let's hope that April will be even better and more interesting :) Thank you for stopping by, and I'll see you soon ♡

Valebat Monday: KL Bird Park (020315)

Hey there! Last Monday my friends and I decided to go to the KL Bird Park and became tourists in our own city before we receive our SPM results on Tuesday. We went there by train and by foot, which took us a good hour to get there from KLCC. First we took the LRT from KLCC to Pasar Seni, then we stopped by the Central Market and then we walked all the way from there on to the bird park. If you plan to walk there like we did, I would suggest that you leave in the morning as the weather in Malaysia is not really suitable for such long distance walk. We left the place by taxi as none of us were capable of walking any further, and it only cost us less than RM10 to get to KLCC from the bird park.

In my opinion, my experience there was quite satisfying and worth the money. The ticket was priced at RM25 per person, that is for those with a MyKad (Malaysian identification card), I believe it would cost you more than RM40 if you are a tourist. As we entered the exhibition area, we were greeted by a few peacocks as well as several other species of birds. There wasn't any name tag displayed, so I wasn't sure what birds exactly were there in the open area. What I am sure of is that there were peacocks, chickens, pelicans, flamingos, owls, turkeys and parrots. Lots of parrots. They also have this area just for parrots, and we got to feed them sunflower seeds. All we had to do was place the seeds in our palms, and the parrots would fly to your arms, and stay there as they devour the seeds. They do prepare sachets of bird food near the entrance, so you can buy it and feed the birds flying in the open space. The sunflower seeds on the other hand is free of charge and anyone can feed the parrots. When we were there, they were just about to hold a parrot show. Not many people were there to watch it as it was a working day, but the show was good nevertheless. I even got to volunteer for one of the slots! The bird park also has a restaurant, but we did not have our lunch there as I believe it is quite on the expensive side for us who are students. They also have a huge pond where most of the flamingoes were resting.

All in all, to me, the trip to the KL Bird Park was one of the best trips I've been to with my friends. It was much better than my expectations, and the fact that not many people were there due to the timing made it even better. Would I go there again? Definitely. Maybe I would bring my niece and nephews the next time. And since it is surrounded by numerous of tourist attractions such as the national monument and the national museum, I think it is a pretty decent place to visit.

I did bring my compact camera on that day and managed to snap a few pics, which you can see below :) Warning: I took a lot of pictures of parrots. I hope you like parrots.

I have more pictures, but did not post it along as I don't want this post to be picture-heavy. If you'd like to see the rest of the pictures, I can make one post just for the pictures :)
Let me know what you think!
